Foods you should eat on an empty stomach

Soaked almonds

Almonds are a rich source of manganese, Vitamin E, protein, fiber, Omega-3, and Omega-6 fatty acid. However, if you eat almonds the wrong way, you will miss out on its benefits. Always soak them overnight and then eat them in the morning. Almond peel contains tannin that prevents nutrient absorption. When you soak them, the skin easily comes off. Almonds will give you the right dose of nutrition and also improve satiety throughout the day.

Warm water and honey

Honey is loaded with minerals, vitamins, flavonoids, and enzymes that are essential to keep your gut clean and healthy. Eating honey with water on an empty stomach will help flush out toxins and also boost your metabolism and provide your body with a short burst of energy to carry out the daily functions.

Raisins

The dried fruit has a high concentration of potassium, calcium, and iron. Like almonds, soak raisins in water overnight as this increases nutrient absorption. Since they are full of natural sugars, they boost your energy in the morning and prepare you for the rest of the day. They also help regulate blood sugar levels and curb sweet cravings. Raisins can also neutralize acids that have harmful effects on your body.

Papaya

Eating papaya on an empty stomach is a good way to cleanse your body of toxins and ensure smooth bowel movement. What’s more, it is easily available round the year. They are also known to lower bad cholesterol and prevent heart diseases. Wait for 45 minutes before eating your breakfast after you have eaten papaya.

Watermelon

The fruits are 90 percent water and are full of electrolytes and are thereby gentle on the stomach. Starting your day with watermelon will keep you hydrated and satiate sugar cravings with minimal calories (a cup of watermelon has 40 calories). Watermelon also contains high levels of lycopene which boosts heart and eye health.

Chia seeds

These tiny seeds are filled with protein, fiber, calcium, antioxidants, and Omega 3s. The best way to eat them is when they have been soaked overnight. Chia seeds have the ability to expand in your stomach and keep you fuller for a long. This way they aid in weight loss. When they are soaked they develop a gelatinous coating that helps them move swiftly in the digestive system.

Dates

Dates are a great source of instant energy that is much needed to kick start your day. Dates also contain a bunch of soluble fibers which are essential for good digestive health because it draws water into the digestive tract. This also helps relieve constipation. The potassium found in dates can also treat upset stomachs and diarrhea.
